Jigsaw puzzles by Pomegranate! 1000 Pieces! The acclaimed author-artist Edward Gorey had a lifelong interest in the theater. His participation in the Broadway production of Dracula garnered three Tony Award nominations, and he wrote and produced engaging and quirky plays that appeared both on and off Broadway and on Cape Cod. As a world-class balletomane, Gorey (1925–2000) was known for having attended most of the performances of the New York City Ballet between 1957 and 1983—the years of George Balanchine’s reign as the company’s choreographer and artistic director.

The untitled, gleefully chaotic work reproduced in this puzzle might be seen as Gorey’s celebration of the theater, which brought him great pleasure and inspiration.

Thoughtfully conceived and engagingly intricate, Pomegranate's 1000-piece interlocking jigsaw puzzles combine superb color reproduction, stunning and unusual images, and heirloom-quality construction to delight generations of puzzle solvers. Finished size 20" x 27".

This is my second Edward Gorey puzzle to complete. They are so much fun to look at, as you work. I, too, hope that more of his images become 1000 piece puzzles.

Love Pomegranate Puzzles!! Love Edward Gorey graphics!! This looks likes a silly Broadway show, but it was super fun trying to figure it out. We hope more of Gorey's illustrations will find their way into a puzzle box soon.
