Woodland Skaters - Something's Amiss! Cabin & Cottage Altered Images By PuzzleTwist

Artist Terry Harrison captures the beauty of the four harbours, Brixham, St. Ives, Lynmouth and Cadgwith, that can be found in the West Country.
Lynmouth itself is one of the most picturesque villages on this beautiful unspoilt stretch of Devon’s rugged North coast. Historically it was a herring fishing port, and many of the original fishermen’s cottages and herring curing houses have been adapted into quaint hotels, guesthouses, restaurants or shops.

Cadgwith is a tiny village located on the eastern side of the Lizard Peninsula in Cornwall, England and is everything that a Cornish fishing village should be. A stream winding down the valley and trickling over the sand and shingle beach, whitewashed cottages, mostly thatched, scattered on both slopes of the valley and fishing boats drawn up on the beach.

St Ives is a seaside town and port in Cornwall. The town lies north of Penzance and west of Camborne on the coast of the Celtic Sea. In former times it was commercially dependent on fishing, but is now primarily a popular holiday resort, notably achieving the award ‘Best UK Seaside Town’ from the British Travel Awards in both 2010 and 2011. Terry Harrison captures the beauty of St Ives regardless of whether the tide is in, and the busy harbour streets that are lined with shops and restaurants.

Brixham is a small fishing town in the county of Devon, in the south-west of England and is situated at the southern end of Torbay, across the bay from Torquay. The town is hilly and built around the harbour which remains in use as a dock for fishing trawlers. It has a focal tourist attraction in the replica of Sir Francis Drake’s ship the Golden Hind that is permanently moored there. Terry Harrison’s painting of the beautiful sea port is peaceful and calm; as the clouds gather above, the boats sit in the harbour after a hard day’s work of fishing.

While doing these puzzles they brought back very pleasant memories of visits to these four places in the West Country. Terry Harrison was an excellent watercolour artist and his books on the subject have also helped me to enjoy that hobby too.
