The World Famous Ravensburger Puzzles
Ravensburger Puzzles, or Ravensburger Spieleverlag its native German Language, began in the late 19th Century, when founder, O. R. Maier started publishing books. The company is named after the town in South Germany; Ravensburg. The company to this day still has its headquarters located in the town.
The puzzles created by Ravensburger are not limited to books, however, and include general puzzles as well as jigsaw puzzles. All of the games and puzzles are well known for their extremely high quality as well as the hours of fun they can create for all ages. Some puzzles are designed for small children, whereas others are suitable and entertaining for all ages. Perhaps the best example of the puzzles for all ages is their jigsaws. These jigsaws can come from very few pieces, for young children, up to many thousands for older children or adults.
Perhaps one of their most famous board games is dingbats; one that is entertaining for all the family, however, this is just one of many games they manufacture. They create many board games that differ from just being on the standard board.
Going back to their jigsaws they also have many different styles, including up to date designs; such as ones that include images from current popular films. Furthermore, they have the puzzleball, which is unlike many other jigsaws, in the fact it is not flat; instead, as is suggested by the name, it is in the shape of a ball. This means that after completion, there is the possibility that this could be left on the side as an ornament.
Furthermore, their WASGIJ? puzzles show you a picture of the jigsaw puzzle, and you have to solve the puzzle from the perspective of one of the people/ animals in the picture. This is a truly insane, but remarkable idea that has taken off a treat.
It is clear to see why Ravensburger puzzles have been, and remain at the top of the puzzle gaming world for many years. With their quality, and fantastic ideas, it will take a lot to knock them off the top spot.
