Wilfrido Limvalencia is a self-taught artist based in British Columbia. His paintings take you on a journey through scenes of life in brilliant colours. His art style, which he calls "folk-realism", is infused with the charm of naive but at the same time embellished with realistic details. Limvalencia, born in 1955, has created art since childhood but sidestepped his dream of becoming a professional artist to obtain a business degree and manage his family's garment firm. In 2001 he returned to his first love full time and several of his works have been licensed and published.
