Fasanella, born in the Bronx, was a labor organizer blacklisted during the McCarthy years. As a gas station attendant, he was "discovered" by New York magazine. The resulting attention allowed him to pursue his art full time. This piece captures America's favorite pastime, while positioning the stadium next to a jail housing African Americans. References to Martin Luther King, Jr., and Malcom X can also be found in the painting.

We had great fun doing this puzzle. We had seen the original painting before, which enhanced our pleasure. Having now done a few puzzles during quarantine, the Ravensburg puzzles are absolutely the best. The pieces fit together gracefully and there were still a few that tricked us.
