About the artist: Better is the Ready, 2010, by Irene Hardwicke Olivieri. Oil on wooden door, 188 x 78.7 cm (74 x 31 in.) Among the recurring themes in American artist Irene Hardwicke Olivieri's enchanting, idiosyncratic, and curiously complex artworks, are self-portraits in which the artist is physically and emotionally exposed. She frequently incorporates art supplies—"symbols of hope, anticipation, and eagerness"—into her autobiographical paintings. When telling the story behind her larger-than-life work Better is the Ready, Olivieri relates how she thinks of the artist "like a soldier or scout, wearing badges of past experiences, triumphs, and challenges." Neither humans nor animals are simple portraits under Olivieri's brush; her works explore the wildness within and without.

One of my favorites. I’m a fan. Didn’t want to finish it.
This is a stunning puzzle. Its' colors are rich and well-defined components renders it great fun. It is beyond gorgeous and while at times it is a bit challenging, this beautiful Better is the Ready is going to be framed. In sum, I am beyond pleased that I chose this quality item.
great puzzle, quality pieces
This puzzle is a remarkable recreation of a unique work of art. It was a lot of fun to find all the little "items" from the artist's actual "utensils"/media. I've already glued it together in order to join other of my favorite puzzles for a patchwork wall of other completed puzzles in our new recreation space......a "puzzling" type of wallpaper/wall art!

Great fun! Lots of surprises in the gear she carries. I did add a wavy vine to the red edge after it was done. That will make it a little easier the next time we do it.

This puzzle is so gorgeous! My daughter and I completed it over a couple of days. We loved it so much we decided to put adhesive backing on it so we could continue to enjoy it. The puzzle now hangs in my daughter's art room. Such inspiration!

Oh boy this puzzle was fun. Pomagrante Puzzle are the best in my opinion. This picture was one of my favorites. Highly recommend this one!!!!
Neat puzzle-- it is narrow in width but long height which is kind of unusual-- looks easy but the red border was tricky as some pieces appeared to "fit", but were not really in the right place...a little extra concentration makes it come together well.
