A nationally renowned cartoonist and illustrator, Tucson-native Eleanor Davis now lives with her husband and fellow cartoonist Drew Weing in the vibrant town of Athens, Georgia. Boasting an impressive list of clients, including The New Yorker, The New York Times, The Atlantic, Time Magazine, Slate, The Washington Post, and Fantagraphics Books, Eleanor still finds time to publish award-winning books and graphic novels. Eleanor's latest book, Why Art?, was published by Fantagraphics in 2018. The featured piece, Big Strides, was originally designed as a poster for the 2016 ICON Illustration Conference in Austin, Texas. Eleanor is using the image here to celebrate Athens For Everyone, a grassroots political organization that works for social and economic justice in Athens, Georgia.
