This is a gorgeous fantasy puzzle by renown artist Josephine Wall. The Buffalo Games quality is quite good featuring grid-cut pieces with a wide variety of shapes. The small box saves shelf space while an included poster can be used for reference while assembling the puzzles. I loved the bold, bright colors in this one. Assembly is a nice mix of easy areas, like the faces, with areas of medium difficulty, like the masses of flowers and butterflies. I liked the added touch of the gold glitter, which is solidly applied and used throughout the puzzle. It adds a nice tactile dimension during assembly and makes the final puzzle even more attractive. This would be a nice image to frame for a kid or teen's room.

This week at Jigsaw Junkies, we're celebrating the addition of Gibsons puzzles to the Puzzle Warehouse inventory. This is the first time Puzzle Warehouse (based in St. Louis, Missouri) has carried Gibsons (a UK puzzle company), and offered American shoppers a quick and less expensive way to get these wonderful puzzles. Earlier this week, I...

Gibsons puzzles are a high-quality puzzle from the UK with beautiful blue boxes, very thick pieces, and a waxy matte finish. This set contains four separate 500-piece puzzles. The four puzzles together show a family spending the day in a market town and visiting various vintage shops and vendors. This is a lovely British nostalgia collection by artist Trevor Mitchell and was specifically commissioned by Gibsons. There's so much color and detail in these images that assemble is very quick and easy. You can do each 500 piece puzzle separately or mix them together into a 2000 piece puzzle for more of a challenge. The 4x500 format is unique to Gibsons and offers something for all levels of puzzlers. Highly recommended.

Gibsons puzzles are a high-quality puzzle from the UK with beautiful blue boxes, very thick pieces, and a waxy matte finish. This British nostalgia puzzle shows a boy getting ready to go fishing with his grandfather. With it's bright colors, soft light, appealing theme, and strong detail, you can see this is an original painting commissioned specifically to be a jigsaw. The assembly process is easy and fun. This is a puzzle that can appeal to men and women and would make a lovely gift for a grandfather or anyone who likes nostalgia scenes.

Happy Memorial Day weekend! We're starting to have serious summer weather here, which always puts me in the mood for nature puzzles. Tigers, elephants, cows, lizards, and birds--all are frequent subjects of jigsaw puzzles. These puzzles bring a little bit of nature into the house. You don't have to be a birdwatcher or be able to...

Publisher: Cobble Hill (Canada), 2016 Title:  “Garden Birds" by Greg & Company  500 pieces, 18" x 24" Review by Jane OUR RATING: 8.25/10 Box Quality:  (8/10) The box is shown above and below. It's an attractive rectangular box similar in size to Ravensburger and Jumbo, but it has a nice linen finish. The front does not show the artist or image name. Back:...

This is a very fun and easy 2000 piece puzzle to assemble. The six lovely vignettes around a central image break the puzzle into many smaller scenes, giving it a collage effect. The colors of the birds and flowers are bright and there's abundance of patterns like the wood table, wicker basket, pine needles, and pine cones, to make even the green and brown areas a delight to put together. It's like getting seven puzzles in one. Cobble Hill is a quality brand with a random puzzle cut and attractive boxes. I would have liked to have seen more information about the artist and image on the box or included inside. Recommended.

Fine art puzzles have been around probably as long as puzzles have existed. It's an obvious concept--take already created masterpieces of the art world and make them into puzzles. It's so obvious one wonders why any other type of puzzle bothers to exist. After all, how can any new image compare to a long-established icon...

This gorgeous puzzle by Diego Rivera offers the best of two worlds--it's a fine art image but it also feels contemporary, colorful, and far from fussy or dull. The bright colors and random cut make assembly interesting. It has enough difficulty to appeal to a true puzzler, but isn't too hard for a family puzzle night. When you're done, you'll have an image worthy of framing. Recommended.
