Stay Updated On What's New In The Puzzle World
Here we are in December. Thanksgiving was a week ago, so the food has had a chance to settle and the leftovers are pretty much gone. In my home that means it’s time to haul the Christmas boxes out of storage, decorate the house, and set up a tree. Then, with all that done, it’s time to start my Christmas puzzles!...CONTINUE READING

A few years ago, I was lucky enough to travel to Texas for an impromptu reunion of two of my very best veterinary friends. We all met here in Ohio when we worked at the same practice, but both of them ended up moving away around the same time. Talk about devastating! One moved to Idaho where she started her own practice, and the other moved back to Texas to be closer to her family. Ohio, Idaho and Texas: not the easiest locations for us to get to see each other! While we were visiting in Texas, we got to experience the Fort Worth stockyards- one of the coolest things I’ve gotten to see in a long time! I can’t tell you how much all three of us enjoyed getting to see those gorgeous Longhorns up close. CONTINUE READING

As I wrap up my second year of Ambassadorialness, I’m realizing that I have a lot to be thankful for both in my real life and my puzzling life (as if they can be separated!). And much like a Tofurky and lentil Thanksgiving feast, I’d like to share these things with you. So, let’s tuck in.
First off, I’m thankful that my food does not have faces...CONTINUE READING

Hi puzzle lovers! It’s me, Alyssa. I took some time away from blogging but I am back with a VERY special post.
I first stumbled upon Genius Games puzzles a few years ago. I really admired the initial collection of Dr Livingston Anatomy puzzles, which included anatomy of the abdomen, chest (Thorax) and head...CONTINUE READING

It’s a crisp autumn morning as I’m writing this blog, and we’ve just had Daylight Saving Time, which means we’ve stolen an extra hour but the nights will be darker earlier. It’s always a bit of a bittersweet feeling around this time, because the midday sun is really the only chance for a bit of warmth outside (at least here in the Northeast) and soon enough the hectic holidays will be upon us....CONTINUE READING

When I say princess, what is the first thing that comes to mind? Is it a Disney Princess like Cinderella, Aurora, or my favorite, Ariel? Or is it more royal like Princess Diana or Princess Kate Middleton? Or is your first thought Marwa - PuzzledPrincessDiaries on Instagram? Well, whether you think of me, Disney, or royalty, you are not wrong! We’re all princesses!
Although, through the magic of puzzles, I would like to dedicate this blog to not only Disney princesses because they continue to spread joy across the globe, but also to non-traditional types of princesses. A princess doesn’t have to wear a crown. She can be an athlete, a ballerina, or a princess gone villain. She can also be human, sea creature, white, black, or Asian! A princess doesn’t have to be one type of woman. She can be anything she wants to be! So for National Princess Day (November 18th) I would like to share with you my different versions of princesses...CONTINUE READING

As leaves change colors and the temperatures get a little more manageable in the eastern United States, I always find myself wanting to spend more time outside. There’s something about the crisp fall breezes that draw me outdoors! I must not be the only one, because November 17 is National Take a Hike Day, otherwise known as National Hiking Day. Of course on the days when the weather isn’t cooperating or we can’t escape from the daily grind, we can instead celebrate nature through puzzles...CONTINUE READING

Not only am I an avid puzzler, I’m also a huge board gamer. So, when I was asked if I wanted to try out University Games Murder Mystery Party game, Death by Chef’s Knife, I jumped on the idea. But before I started, I immediately called for reinforcement and invited three of my closest board game buddies over to play...CONTINUE READING

I’ll start with a confession.
In over 50 years of solving jigsaw puzzles, I had never, until last year, heard of something called an “Advent puzzle.” November of 2023 was the first time one of these came to my attention, when it showed up in my house as a present from my wife. She bought it as a novelty, and its slower pace was definitely a change from my usual “get this finished quickly” style. So, starting on Dec 1 and for the following 23 days, I worked my way through the box, one 42 piece puzzle at a time. At the end, I connected all of these small images and had a single 1008 piece picture...CONTINUE READING
