Channel Craft began as a one-man operation back in 1983 from the back of a step van / traveling wood shop. President and founder Dean Helfer, Jr. would drive from craft shows to festivals selling his one-of-a-kind hand-crafted wooden products. The craft circuit slowly but surely opened new business avenues that provided the necessary business flow to put together a full-scale manufacturing operation.
As the years went on, Dean and his staff settled in the small mining town of Ellsworth, Pennsylvania. Dean had crossed paths with many other U.S. toy and game manufacturers and had worked out distribution deals and agreements to sell their products along with the Channel Craft toys. These partnerships turned into fruitful business and personal relationships that would begin to bring together the cohesive theme of "Authentic American Toys, Games and Puzzles made in the USA."
Channel Craft has become the preeminent purveyor of historically significant Toys, Games and Puzzles to complement museums, parks and attractions. Recent expansion into the jigsaw puzzle industry has even furthered their reach into the toy industry and every last bit of quality and attention to detail is present in each puzzle.
