Fort Gratiot Light was built in 1829. It was named after the nearby fort that had been constructed during the War of 1812. The light stands at the southern end of Lake Huron where it narrows down and feed the St. Clair River. The lighthouse is still in operation. It can be climbed for a fee, and there is a well stocked gift shop on the grounds as well.
