Geometric Herb Garden Flowers Jigsaw Puzzle

About Pomegranate Geometric Herb Garden

“My mission is to capture time. Through painting I feel I can make the moment stand still, to make its beauty last,” says Rosalind Wise. She achieves this goal by creating fresh, lively, large-format paintings of gardens, meadows, wetlands, and other natural vistas. “The pleasure is in the view, taking it in visually, the whole picture of what is in front of me. And yet there is equal pleasure in looking at the plants, grasses, and flowers close up.”

Geometric Herb Garden was inspired by the knot garden at the Garden Museum, in London. The knot is a seventeenth-century-style garden designed by the Dowager Marchioness of Salisbury and planted in honor of John Tradescant the Elder and the Younger, gardeners to King Charles I. The garden as Wise has rendered it is bursting with herbs, creating a tapestry of color, texture, and pattern that highlights the geometry of the knot.

This is a challenge folks. I am in the process of doing it a second time because I was missing one piece, and trying to work quickly makes it even harder, There is no quicker. Slow and steady will get the job done.

This garden was definitely a challenge. The closeness in colors between the various flowers, the prevalence of yellows and greens, and the relatively small areas of flower detail made the puzzle a nice challenge and required a lot of scrutinizing of detail. I enjoyed this puzzle very much.

I adore the quality of Pomegranate puzzles, but many of their images are of paintings (most are "Artpiece Puzzles," after all), where the colors sort of blend together rather than have sharp outlines. (The Charley Harper series is a wonderful exception.) These aren't the sort of puzzle images I enjoy. After seeing this image online, I thought it would be less of an issue and that the outlines would be sharper. But alas, it's definitely more painting-like. However, the image is gorgeous, and the quality if of course high. So it comes down to your image preference for puzzling. If you enjoy a painting-like image, then this is for you. If you're like me and prefer sharper outlines, either steer clear or prepare for a bit of a challenge.
