A horse grazes in a pasture while the sun peeks through the trees in “Pastoral Sunset” from SunsOut. This 1000 piece puzzle features the artwork of Karla Mann and is extremely detailed, almost like a photograph. The bright colors and shapes of the trees will be fun to piece together. The completed puzzle will measure 27” x 20”.

SunsOut puzzles are 100% made in the USA with eco-friendly soy-based inks on recycled boards. SunsOut is not sold in mass-market stores.

An extremely difficult puzzle for several reasons. The picture shows more detail than the actual puzzle. For instance, the shadows on the horse, the tree, and the ground are all the same dark solid color. The fine details which would help distinguish them are lost. Also, there are only 3 basic cuts. The pieces are all the same size and shape so you end up trying hundreds of pieces with no distinguishing characteristic in many places. The scale and coloring are misleading. It's one of the few puzzles I'm inclined to give up on. Plus, the puzzle starts about 1/4 inch in from the picture's edge. You have to adjust for that. This made the tree branches even more difficult. Believe it or not, they are the easiest part! I hate working on this puzzle but I love the picture. If they used a variety of cuts and lightened the color a bit, it would make a world of difference. The shaded area of the horse especially is darker than it ought to be.

took me awhile to complete this due to the odd shapes, including the edge piece which are not all the standard straight edges. the coloring of the field and trees behind the horse - even the horse itself was a challenge.
