The thing to know is that this is a craft project. The picture is beautiful, the pieces are cleanly cut and lock together well. Great puzzle. BUT. What you are supposed to do is assemble the puzzle, then glue it together with the glue packet included (no further instructions on that?), then poke the little holes for the lights out, flip it over, install a little wiring harness according to the diagram included, then put batteries in it, tape the battery pack to the back of the puzzle, and it should light up. I wondered how it worked when I bought it. It doesn't say so, but I think it must be understood that you will plan to place this in a frame because once you install the wiring and battery pack on the back, it will not be laying flat on the table. I did not do the lighting part because I really just wanted to work this pretty picture, and I work my puzzles on a beautiful wooden table, not a craft table. I think if you want to do a project like this and would enjoy having a festive, lit picture to hang on the wall, it might be great. Not for me, though--I guess I like my puzzles plain! But the price is very good for what you get.
