Holiday Stamps

I’ve always enjoyed receiving cards around the holidays and reading up on the activities of my friends and family. Although the practice seems to be getting less common as the years go by, I still have a fondness for the imagery of Christmas cards and of course the seasonal stamps that go with them. Perhaps I’m not alone in this, as holiday stamps are a regular theme in puzzles.

mini puzzle

Holiday Stamps Mini Puzzle by Galison

How cute is this adorable and colorful mini puzzle from Galison? The giraffes! And sloth! This 130-piece puzzle is titled Holiday Stamps Mini Puzzle, and, if you can’t already tell, I love the festive illustrations by Klara Hawkins! Its small size also makes this a great choice to work on in between activities during the hustle and bustle of the holidays.

puzzle

Christmas Cat Stamp Collection by Anatolian

As much as I love mini puzzles this time of year, I’m glad I found a longer moment to put together Christmas Cat Stamp Collection in 1000 pieces from Anatolian. I started this puzzle with the more vivid colors, like the purples, yellows and reds. Then I worked on the fuzzy parts of the hats, the small scenes in the center, and the rest of the cats. I just love those faces! I think the smug gray cat in the pink hat in the top right may be my favorite. I finished up with the scalloped sides of the stamps and finally the edge pieces. Fortunately there were some inked postmarks and snowflakes around the edges, so it wasn’t quite as tedious a task as it first looked.

You’re not seeing double! I also did Christmas Cat Stamps by the same artist, Irina Garmashova-Cawton. This puzzle is 550 pieces by Vermont Christmas Company. A couple of the cats are even the same! I liked that the border on this one had a little more variety, and of course I enjoyed getting to know another collection of fine kitties. Look at the little shoes on the one in the bottom row! If you haven’t had your fill of cat stamps, Kodak also has a similar puzzle by the same artist, also called Christmas Cat Stamp Collection.

Christmas Snow Angels by SunsOut

Another artist that comes to mind when I think of stamp puzzles is Finchley Arts. The 300-piece Christmas Snow Angels from SunsOut is one such puzzle. I like that there are many elements on top of the main college; it keeps things interesting! Finchley seems to do this in his other stamp puzzles as well, for example in his Halloween puzzles Spooky (pictured below) and Skeleton Dance, both in 1000 pieces from SunsOut.

I also really appreciate that the edges of Finchley Art stamp puzzles have a bit of a scene or gradient, so it goes together more quickly than a consistent background.

special delivery puzzle

Special Delivery by Re-marks

Another holiday stamp puzzle that I’ve been eyeing up is Special Delivery in 1000 pieces from Re-marks. Re-marks actually has quite a few stamp and collage puzzles, and they are all so much fun! I usually breeze right through them. In fact, my fastest time for speed puzzling a 500-piece puzzle is with one of their collage puzzles! They often have a great range of colors, and each of the little images is always distinct and interesting. How fun to add a holiday puzzle to the mix! I love the woodland animals gathered around the tree.

If you’re craving even more postage-themed puzzles, ambassador Dawn has you covered in her blog post. Happy holidays, and happy puzzling!
