The Best Puzzle Advent Calendars of the Season
If you’ve followed me for a while, you already know I love advent calendars—especially puzzle ones! Over the years I’ve tried many of the advents we carry at Puzzle Warehouse. They’re a fun way to slow down during a busy season and take 10–15 minutes for yourself (or to share a cozy nightly tradition with family). Here are some of the more popular ones we sell that I personally have done and would recommend. If you want to see a full video of over 30 different advent calendars, you can watch it over on my Youtube channel!
My #1 tip: Choose one advent calendar at a time. December gets busy, and if you fall behind on multiple calendars, catching up can turn a daily joy into a time crunch.
Eurographics Advent Calendars
Eurographics is a consistent favorite. They offer lots of charming themes—baked goods, villages, pets, and more. Some styles include little drawers so you can put pieces back and reuse it next year.
I especially love the Town Fair Advent Calendar where each day’s 40-piece mini puzzle becomes part of a larger village scene once you’ve finished the month.
- Why I recommend it: Cute themes, manageable daily piece count, and reusable drawer formats on some versions

Vermont Christmas Company
Instead of 24 separate mini puzzles, Vermont Christmas Company has you build one 1,000-piece puzzle over the season, opening a box of 40 pieces. It’s fantastic for newer puzzlers who want to complete a 1,000-piece puzzle in bite-sized sessions or for anyone who prefers finishing a single beautiful image.
Personal faves I’ve done: Stained Glass Nativity and Christmas Cheer (I’ve repeated that one!). A fun twist: when you take it apart, mix up the daily boxes so next year it feels brand new.
- Why I recommend it: One cohesive image, satisfying progress, giftable daily box system

Gibsons
Gibsons offers a super-unique advent: this one includes shaped puzzles (typically 48–60 pieces) and they include puzzle glue and ribbon so you can turn them into ornaments. I’ve also seen people use them as oversized gift tags—adorable and practical.
- Why I recommend it: Creative shapes, keepsake ornaments, every image feels different

Boardwalk
If you want something extra giftable, the Boardwalk advent is gorgeous. Think sturdy keepsake box with pull-out drawers, lovely illustrations, and 50 pieces per day, plus a booklet with images for each day. The quality and presentation make this an easy recommendation.
- Why I recommend it: Premium presentation, great illustrations, excellent fit/finish

Jumbo: Jan Van Haasteren & Wasgij
Jan Van Haasteren: The box is designed like an apartment building and each day opens to a new scene—from festive parties to cozy family moments to total chaos. Every image is a surprise, packed with humor, and no two days look alike.
Wasgij: This one is laugh-out-loud fun. Santa’s tossing gifts from his sleigh, completely oblivious to the mayhem below—car mishaps, farm animals, presents splashing into water… Each day is different and slightly mischievous. Both lines have that matte piece finish and excellent fit I love from Jumbo.
- Why I recommend it: Highly varied artwork, comedic storytelling, satisfying matte finish and fit

More Ways to Count Down
There are even more options on our site—elves, Pokémon, 12 Days of Christmas, and even a 3D puzzle advent! Whether you want a peaceful solo wind-down or a nightly family tradition, there’s truly something for everyone.
Quick Tips
- Pick one advent to keep it joyful (and avoid catch-up stress).
- Set a daily window (10–15 minutes) so it becomes a relaxing ritual.
- Reuse & remix: Drawer styles and daily box systems make repeat years easy—and mixing boxes keeps it fresh.
Pour a cup of cocoa, press play on your favorite holiday playlist, and enjoy a little puzzling joy each day of the season.
