Spring Puzzles I Love This Time of Year
I’ve noticed something about my puzzling habits over the years; I am definitely someone who puzzles based on the season. When autumn rolls around, I start reaching for cozy cabins and autumn leaves. In winter, snowy villages and Christmas scenes suddenly feel right. But when spring arrives, I immediately want bright, colorful puzzles on my table. There’s just something about the start of a new season that makes opening a fresh puzzle even more exciting.
For me, Springtime is all about color. After months of darkness (I like in the PMW), spring puzzles feel like a breath of fresh air. I find myself gravitating toward florals, gardens, birds, and bright landscapes. Anything with vibrant colors and lots of life in the image just feels perfect this time of year. Spring is when I want puzzles that feel cheerful, fresh, and full of detail. If you are looking for a puzzle that fits the season, here are a few types of images I always love in the spring:
Hummingbird Hibiscus - Springbok
This puzzle immediately makes me think of spring gardens. The bright hibiscus flowers and colorful hummingbirds make this one feel vibrant and lively. It’s the kind of puzzle that feels cheerful from the moment you open the box. I also love desk type puzzles. One of my favorite puzzles of all time is The Artist Palette by Ravensburger and this has a similar vibe. This detailed puzzle by artist Kimberly McGuiness is a relaxing escape for anyone who loves art and nature.
Country Truck in Spring - Cobble Hill
If you’re looking for something that really captures that classic spring feeling, Country Truck in Spring by Cobble Hill is such a charming option. This puzzle is apart of a collection that also features the same truck, but in the other three seasons. I had done the summertime one and found it very enjoyable.
This puzzle features a vintage blue pickup truck filled with colorful spring flowers, with two adorable puppies sitting right in the truck bed. There’s even a rainbow stretching across the sky, which really completes the cheerful countryside scene. It’s the kind of image that just feels happy and bright from the moment you see it.
I especially like this one for spring puzzling because it has a lot of distinct sections to work on — the flowers, the truck, the puppies, and the bright sky all give you natural places to build. And since it’s a 500-piece puzzle, it’s also a great choice if you want something a little more relaxed that you could finish pretty quickly.

Butterfly Pals - SunsOut
Butterfly Pals is a really fun looking one if you want something a little different from the traditional rectangle puzzle. This puzzle from SunsOut is actually butterfly-shaped, which makes the finished puzzle feel extra special. SunsOut has quite a few shaped puzzles like this in their lineup, especially butterfly designs, and they always stand out on the puzzle table. This one, illustrated by artist Florian Mitgutsch, is full of colorful details including a cozy cottage, animals, flowers, and even a rainbow stretching across the sky.
I really like puzzles like this because the shaped border changes the solving experience a bit. Instead of starting with a straight edge, you get to build the curves of the butterfly wings first, which makes the puzzle feel unique right from the start. Between the bright colors, whimsical animals, and the cheerful countryside setting, this one definitely fits the spring theme and would be a really fun puzzle to work on this time of year.
Garden Shed Greenhouse - Buffalo Games
Garden Shed Greenhouse by artist Tracy Flickinger is another puzzle that really captures that springtime gardening feeling. This image is packed with detail. There are flowers everywhere, gardening tools, plants spilling out of pots, and a cozy little greenhouse tucked into the scene. Puzzles like this are always fun because there are so many different little sections to work on as you build.
I also have to admit this puzzle speaks to me for another reason — I have tried many times to keep plants alive, and let’s just say it has not gone well. This puzzle might be the closest I get to actually growing a thriving garden. If you love colorful garden scenes with lots of detail and little discoveries throughout the image, this one is a great spring puzzle to add to your table.
Willow Spring Beauty - Anatolian
Willow Spring Beauty by Sung Kim is another spring puzzle that immediately caught my eye because of the soft, peaceful colors. The scene features a quiet lakeside landscape with blooming trees, greenery, and calm water that really captures that fresh spring feeling. I love puzzles with these kinds of gentle pastel tones. The greens, blues, and soft blossoms make the image feel calm and relaxing, which is perfect for a cozy puzzle session.
At the same time, I know this one would probably be a bit of a challenge for me. Landscapes with water and sky can sometimes take a little more patience because the colors blend together. But since it’s a 500-piece puzzle, it feels like a manageable challenge that you could finish over a couple puzzle sessions. : If you enjoy peaceful nature scenes and puzzles that feel like a quiet spring afternoon, this one would be a beautiful puzzle to add to your table.

What’s On Your Puzzle Table This Spring?
One of my favorite things about the puzzle community is seeing what everyone else is working on. Some puzzlers go all-in on florals, others gravitate toward birds and nature scenes, and some prefer bright illustrations or colorful cityscapes.
But spring always seems to bring a wave of colorful puzzles to everyone's table.
Thank you for sharing. These are great spring puzzles.
