Dogs Doing Perfectly Normal Things Dogs Do
Hello there! When I was asked to write a post for National Dog Day (that’s a thing we do!), I wasn’t confident I was the best person to write about dogs. I have never had a dog, though I have seen them at dinner parties and, perhaps because of my petite stature, I’m the perfect height for large dogs that just met me to jump up and accidentally breathe into my mouth.
Since I don’t have a lot of real-life dog experience to write about, I did a little research and found lots of helpful visual references on the Puzzle Warehouse website. Here are some dogs doing perfectly normal dog things that dogs do.
Like these Beach Dogs sipping drinks from straws while under an umbrella that uses irony (or does it?) to label both their body temperature and species.
These dogs appear to be anthropomorphizing near a large body of water, something that should not be combined with alcohol. But perhaps “setting a good example for the kids” isn’t one of these dogs’ talents. Their talents are more about finding and putting on sunglasses that fit.
Easter Bunny in Training is another example of dogs doing perfectly normal dog things – like dressing up for a holiday that doesn’t involve costumes.

Who hasn’t dressed up for Halloween? Or Christmas? Or even Daylight Savings? But Easter!? I’m still trying to convince my kids that Easter isn’t a gift-giving occasion (it’s more of an over-the-top greeting kind of occasion), and dogs like this guy don’t help my case.
Then there are these Hot Diggity Dogs, publicly violating all 851 health codes and licensure requirements of their community at the same time.

We have a dog wearing ketchup within 15 feet of a fire hydrant, a dog juggling hot dogs while bipedal atop a vehicle, and dogs serving food without beard nets. This puzzle does an especially good job of capturing the general chaos of having scores of dogs wearing hats and eating hot dogs ironically (or are they?) in a small space.
Next up is Blueberry Hollow Farm, where we see this perfectly normal dog doing social justice. You know, like dogs do.

After successfully advocating for the social and economic equality of these apparently imprisoned kittens, Mitzi will move on to solving uppercase and lowercase letters.
Then we have these dogs primarying for their candidates.
Born in the U.S.A. reminds us all of the importance of universal suffrage and keeping an ample supply of tiny flags on hand in case of emergency parades or sudden bicentennials.
Speaking of patriotic duties, these perfectly normal Newshounds are speaking truth to power by committing journalism.
Fortunately, like all journalists, they wear hats that identify their precise roles within the newsroom. I’ll bet the toughest part of getting the image for this puzzle was waiting for the dogs to write all those headlines behind them – but those puns show true dedication to their craft!
And how about these Happy Dogs doing perfectly normal dog things like getting together with a group of friends, dressing up in zany costumes, photographing themselves, and publishing a calendar that doesn’t include dates?

At least these dogs had the guts to combine Saturday and Sunday into a single day – a bold idea for a group that purports to like “fun.” Does anyone else wonder where Ethel got that bathrobe that looks like it’s for an adult human but actually fits her tiny frame perfectly or how she got the sleeves rolled up so neatly? No? Don’t lie.
Finally, we have this puzzle, Dog Gone Days.
This image depicts these perfectly normal dogs gathered across the pond (it’s actually an ocean – a fun fact you can share at parties!) for a relaxing day, doing perfectly normal dog things: wearing yet more headgear, riding old-timey bicycles and unicycles that are mysteriously devoid of pedals but also too high to be considered push-cycles, riding skateboards, riding other dogs, riding on boats, grasping oars in order to row the boats, holding more hot dogs (and somehow the concept is just as fresh this time as it was all the other times), and holding balloons with nary a one of them flying away. But the most amazing accomplishment of these perfectly normal dogs appears to be moving five European landmarks and one canal – none of which have wheels – into a single central location for this photo shoot.
Woof, dogs are amazing.

I currently don't have a dog but had them in the past and they can offer you some of the best entertainment non-stop.
