This is a sliding block puzzle where the object is to move the piece with the Goat on it to the position inside the cage. The cage must be intact with the Goat inside. It is moderately difficult with a minimum of 36 moves required if no mistakes are made. The puzzle dates from 1914. Inspired by the original puzzle in Jerry Slocums "Puzzles Old and New" from 1987, Creative Crafthouse just loved the look and the concept. This is all hardwood construction and the patterns are all deeply laser engraved. Its a beautiful puzzle to look at and should last forever! Comes with base and cover so you can keep all the pieces protected and even pickup a game later on where you left off.
Dimensions: About 8" x 5" case
Difficulty level: 3 (out of 6)
I have always loved doing sliding puzzles (maybe you guys could get more of them?) including some 7 by 7 which is probably why it was so easy for me (less than 5 minutes), but it is very nice and well made .
fun puzzle - haven't solved it yet but still enjoy moving th pieces around and trying! nicely finished so not worried about splinters and doesn't smell like chemicals (ordered some wood puzzles from another place and when I called about the smell found out they fumigate stuff from overseas) these are made in the US and don't have that nasty smell.
