Who Made Jigsaw Puzzles
John Spilsbury had an idea involving one of his maps that would help children to learn the countries and geography skills by cutting the countries out and using them as puzzle pieces during the 1700s. Being a mapmaker, or cartographer, and engraver he was able to create puzzles that would help children learn about the world around them. But little to Mr.Spilsbury's knowledge at the time, the jigsaw puzzle would rapidly increase in demand and soon be mass-manufactured for the whole world to enjoy within a handful of decades. Today, puzzles not only teach children useful skills but also increase problem-solving skills at a young age, thanks to today's advanced technology those puzzles and games are able to keep your young one entertained and learning!
