Can You Make Your Own Puzzle Frame?

Sure, you *can* make your own puzzle frame... but should you?

Personally, I haven’t gone down that road. Between measuring, cutting, and getting all the supplies (wood, backing, glass or acrylic, hanging hardware), it ends up being way more work than it’s worth — especially when there are so many affordable ready-made frame options out there.

Unless you’re a DIY enthusiast or already have the tools, it’s usually easier (and cheaper in the long run) to buy a frame that fits your puzzle. Lots of brands now make frames sized specifically for common puzzle sizes, and many puzzles list the final dimensions right on the box to help you shop for the right fit.

If you're determined to build one, you'll want to:

• Measure your glued puzzle carefully
• Cut and join wood pieces for the frame
• Add a sturdy backing like foam board or hardboard
• Secure your puzzle inside (using clips, glue, or a recessed frame)
• Top it with acrylic or glass if desired

But again — unless woodworking is your thing, I say treat yourself to a pre-made frame and spend that saved time on your next puzzle instead.
