Beetles

This puzzle was the right amount of challenging. The pieces fit together nicely and are made of quality material. I really enjoyed making it. The beetles are beautiful.

I'm VERY new to jigsaw puzzles, (an important factor when giving weight to this review). I've worked about a dozen 1000 piece puzzles, but none kicked my butt like this one. Other than the number of pieces, I had no idea what would qualify a puzzle as "beginner, intermediate, advanced," but this puzzle gave me a better understanding of what creates the levels. I'd definitely rate this puzzle as advanced, though it could be me. (As I said, I'm new to jigsaw puzzles.) As far as I could tell, no two pieces were the same. So when looking for a particular shape of white (or off white) you'll be searching across hundreds upon hundreds of pieces. Moreover, some of the pieces simply nestle against (versus lock into) other pieces until side pieces are in place. At one point, I nearly threw in the towel...but didn't. Once complete, the puzzle is quite beautiful...if you like beetles (and I do!)
