Jigsaw puzzles by Pomegranate! 1000 Pieces! Finished size 20" X 25". Artist Fredric Church. A member of the Hudson River School of painters, Frederic Edwin Church (American, 1826–1900) masterfully portrayed the wonder and unspoiled beauty of nature in early America. Here, Church’s large canvas captures magnificently the drama of Niagara Falls, one of the country’s most famous landmarks. This painting, based on a drawing Church made at Niagara in July 1856 and on a sepia photograph touched with color, was commissioned by the New York art dealer Michael Knoedler in 1866. It may originally have been destined for the Universal Exhibition in Paris, as Church had been selected to represent America there. It was bought in 1887 by the banker and philanthropist John Stewart Kennedy, who presented it to his native Scotland. It is the only major example of Church’s work in a European public collection.

Thoughtfully conceived and engagingly intricate, Pomegranate's 1000 - Piece interlocking jigsaw puzzles combine superb color reproduction, stunning and unusual images, and heirloom - quality construction to delight generations of puzzle solvers.

One of the more challenging puzzles. A lot of similar colors making it difficult if done in average lighting conditions (e.g. winter). Good quality pieces, fit together nicely. Nice picture when assembled.

Easier than it looks. Once again, the printing of the picture was somewhat darker and not as pretty as the picture online.

Seemed much easier than it looked. Pieces fit well. Somewhat darker than the photo on the website and the box.

So far, so good...I like a good looking puzzle that's a keeper and frameable, the pieces are pretty standard for size and shape which is needed for a good looking final picture...it'll take me a while to finish, all the mist will keep me busy!

Beautiful, well-made puzzle.

The large sections of similar coloring make this a real challenge, but I was able to complete it successfully.
