The 30 piece America Freedom puzzle invokes feelings of patriotism and pride for our country and the foundation it is built on. Piece size: 2" x 2". Finished size: 8.25" x 11".
For dementia patients, jigsaw puzzles with many pieces and detailed images are too difficult. MindStart puzzles, designed by an occupational therapist, are unique because the images have only a few, simple objects in each image, making it easier for the user to find pieces that go together. This design feature, along with having fewer puzzle pieces and images from adult life, allows the person with dementia to have the right level of mental stimulation and dignified success. Also, the large size of the puzzle pieces helps seniors with vision loss to easily see and handle the pieces. A research study showed that patients with dementia were able to set the MindStart puzzles more independently, with less cues needed, when compared to a child’s puzzle of the same size. This gives the person a sense of accomplishment and gives caregivers respite time.
Love your puzzles.
Really a nice looking puzzle when completed.
this puzzle was a surprise in its difficulty. I didn't think that a puzzle with such few pieces would be such a challenge, but it was. I got this puzzle for my elderly father who has dementia and for our younger grandchildren. Both of these age groups struggled with it a bit. It was a good struggle though, one they figured out well and worked through. We all enjoy the lovely theme/print and subject matter. I'm not sure how much use we will get out of it, as I plan to store it away with our patriotic/4th of July decorations, but it is a lovely puzzle and addition to our July 4th collectibles.
The extra large piece puzzles are great for elderly family members. I purchased a box of these puzzles for my mother who has macular degeneration in her eye and she is unable to see well. The over-sized piece collection has been wonderful. She can see the larger pieces and has really enjoyed having something to do to pass the time. I bought so many that she can rotate doing them and rebuild them. I highly recommend these puzzles for elderly adults! Any my children love doing the puzzles with her as well.
