Roughly the size and shape of a Mourning Dove, North America’s littlest falcon packs a predator’s fierce intensity into its small body. It’s one of the most colorful of all raptors; the male’s slate blue head contrasts elegantly with a rusty-red back and tail. Hunting for insects, small rodents, and birds in open territory, kestrels perch on wires or poles, or hover facing into the wind, flapping and adjusting their long tails to stay in place. Kestrels are declining in parts of their range, but you can help them by putting up nest boxes.
The Cornell Lab of Ornithology has developed QR codes which allow you to listen to the songs and calls of hundreds of birds, right from your smart phone. We have harnessed this educational technology to allow you to hear these birds sing while completing your puzzle.

Challenging but beautiful when completed
These are beautiful puzzles with interesting piece shapes. Lots of fun to work on! I look forward to buying more after finishing these four.
The puzzles are beautiful... the service excellent! Highly recommend purchasing your New York Company puzzles directly from the company.
clever, difficuilt, but fun
I loved doing this puzzle. The pieces were well made and the colors vibrant. The matte finish produced no glare. Really beautiful puzzle.
I enjoyed working this puzzle immensely. First, it was random cut, which I love. Second, there was no glare. That is correct, no glare. Third, I love the colors and the art. I am having it dry mounted today. I also have "Baby It's Cold Outside" from the New York Puzzle company, which I also loved. I bought the mug for that one. Also, Cornell has an explanation on the back of the box about the American Kestrel, something I wish all puzzles would do, include a little narrative about the puzzle. Also, there is a bar code on the back of the box that you can scan and hear the call of the kestrel. For some, on the down side, the pieces are not as thick as Clementoni or as large, although they were quite sturdy and fit together great. The pegs were mostly the same shape, which was necessary because the pieces were too small for me to tell any difference in the pegs. The difference was in the overall shape of the pieces. The box was not as deluxe as Clementoni, and there was no poster. Although some people put great weight in the box, poster, and thickness and size of the pieces, the most important thing to me is, "Did I enjoy working the puzzle?" In this case, I couldn't imagine having more fun.
