Before his now iconic books drew critical acclaim and a dedicated following, Edward Gorey designed book covers in the crowded single room of Doubleday Anchor’s art department. Not yet thirty and recently graduated from Harvard, Gorey initially illustrated paperback covers and dust jackets for the likes of Joseph Conrad, Henry James, and Charles Dickens, establishing a pen-and-ink hand-lettered style that would challenge prevailing American publishing standards and help define his publishers’ visual identities. Today, Gorey’s prodigious output of hundreds of dust jackets and paperback covers evidences his distinctive flair for design and his extraordinary ability to portray the essence of the books that came his way.

A fun puzzle for Gorey fans, with little pieces of his figures and animals in random pieces.
My family and I loved this puzzle. Pomegranate puzzles always are such a nice quality. The image was fun and interesting. Not the hardest 1,000 piece puzzle that I have done but I liked that each of us could focus on our own little section and then combine with the others.
A really enjoyable puzzle! Just the right amount of challenge.
Loved this puzzle. You can work the little squares and put them together into one big square.I love the book covers. Delivery was fast and always a great selection
I love this puzzle from Pomegranate! The quality is outstanding---even the bag for the pieces is a zip-lock so it can be reused.
Easy, but great fun.
Excellent product. Rapid shipping.
This puzzle is gorgeous. The Gorey art makes for an interesting experience as you put it together. The quality of the peices is very good - almost like wood and snap together well.
I love this puzzle, and it was a lot of fun to do, but one edge piece was missing. I have never had this happen before with Pomegranate puzzles, so was very surprised.
My favorite!
Pieces are sturdy, puzzle is of high quality!
