Like many Christmas traditions which started in Germany, German bakers participating in Christmas markets sold decorated gingerbread. The tradition of making decorated gingerbread houses started in Germany in the early 1800s. The first gingerbread houses were the result of the well-known Grimm's fairy tale "Hansel and Gretel" and became a family tradition which continues to this day. See if you can piece together the gingerbread house in this 24”x 30” 1000 piece puzzle. By Kathleen Parr McKenna
