The area in northern Italy, nestled on the Mediterranean coast between Genoa to Pisa, is known as the Italian Riviera.   Here lies Cinque Terre (Italian for Five Lands,) a cluster of five towns designated as a National Park.  Villages of brightly colored buildings perch like exotic birds on cliffs that plunge into the blue Ligurian sea.   If this sounds like something from a postcard or fine art piece, you are right.   This region is among the most photographed areas of the world.
