Charley Harper (American, 1922–2007) The Desert Charley Harper’s The Desert was originally featured on a poster commissioned by the US National Park Service. The painting includes an abundance and variety of flora and fauna, from the gila woodpecker (center) to the white-throated woodrat hiding beneath it. Nocturnal creatures blend into the darkness, but their eyes glow, ever alert! Harper made paintings filled with color, motion, and fun—as exemplified by this 1,000-piece puzzle.

Challenging to assemble, but worth the wait. Always fun to find all the "hidden" creatures in the puzzle.
A fun puzzle, made more challenging with limited colors. There were a few false positives on the left / right borders, but overall, an excellent puzzle!
Pomegranate puzzles are high quality puzzles. This puzzle offered a variety of images that made me rate it medium and not hard. Overall the most challenging part was distinguishing between the cactus arms and body. Keeping this for a future redo.

I thought this puzzle would be hard to see because of the dark colors. I almost returned it. So glad i did not. Turned out to be one of my favorite puzzles. The surface is muted so no glare. The pieces feel nice in your hands. This was my first Charley Harper puzzle. It was super well-designed and very high quality.. Slighly challenging but not too hard. Lots of surprises. Fun and relaxing to do. I was sad when it was finished because it was so much fun to put together. Highly recommend
Very high quality puzzle!
I am a sucker for anything Charley Harper, so I was overjoyed to build my first Charley Harper puzzle! The quality of the image, as well as the pieces themselves, was wonderful. As far as 1000-pc puzzles go, this one was a relatively quick build. The design offers a good combination of smaller sections that are easy to piece together and larger areas that require time and focus. Pomegranate is now on my list of Great Puzzle Companies and I look forward to building more Harper pieces!
Charley Harper is a wonderful artist. Hope you can get and keep more of his puzzle art in stock. These are very challenging and a joy to see complete.
