This piece of art was stolen by the Nazis when they took Austria and hung for years in an Austrian art museum under the name "Woman in Gold" as Klimt had used golden foils as an embellishment. The piece was difficult as the subtle shading and movement of the shades were often deceiving as any strong dominant woman. Klimt captures the eroticism of the woman whose name it bears. Since you cannot steal or own the original, work on it while you watch the movie "The Woman in Gold."

This is my daughter's favorite painter. The pieces are well made and it was not too difficult as there are plenty of different colors and patterns in the image. She is choosing to hang this on her wall as memory of time working on it.

Well, I had projected a week to put this one together - but, by working VERY much on it, it was done in four days. (Well, I had to keep up the housework!) I won't really know the level of physical/manufactured quality until the third, fourth or fifth time I construct it. It is a challenge. My friends who have seen the finished piece have been impressed. This is NOT for those who suffer with ADD or ADHD - that's for sure. It demands patience. A love of Gustav Klimt will help. You will be rewarded. For now - I'm delighted to have added it to my collection.
