Great Painters - Vincent Van Gogh - 1000 Piece Jigsaw Puzzle by White Mountain

Loved it!

I usually don't like collages, but this one was so beautiful and full of valuable artwork by Van Gogh. When I was finished with it, I glued it together and onto a piece of craft board. It hangs over my desk in my office.

The cardboard didn't seem as "firm" as my other White Mountain puzzles, but the pieces fit together well. Wasn't sure whether to rate it as medium or hard difficulty. Luckily, the brush strokes vary from one painting to another which helped with the sorting.

I'm the type who begins with the borders and works my way in. With this puzzle, it makes no real difference. I've learned more about Van Gogh than I ever knew before about his style. I spotted pieces that looked just like his Starry Night but they actually belonged in another area. Then I realized how repetitive Van Gogh was with his brush strokes, color choices and blends throughout his works. Way more challenging than I first thought but well worth it.

Love Van Gogh. Love, love, love that it's a collage. Easier to complete. More interesting to look at, includes more of his paintings. I don't usually like doing a puzzle more than once or twice at most. But because there's so much variety in this one puzzle, I have no problem tackling it again just for the fun of it. GREAT puzzle.

Image quality is wonderful - very bright and colorful. Some White Mtn. puzzles we've done have had pieces that just lay next to each other but all of these interlocked, which we prefer.
