This 4th of July themed puzzle is an easy family project for those warm summer evenings. The round shape makes for an unusual and fun puzzle assembly. There are plenty of small figures throughout to discover as you put the puzzle together. Like most Sunsout puzzles, the pieces feel thick & sturdy. However, the cut is close to a grid cut with standard piece shapes even though corners don't quite meet up. There's a lot of green grass in the image, but objects and people break it up in most areas of the puzzle. The brown path with its marching figures is particularly fun to assemble. Recommended for anyone who likes Americana or holiday-themed puzzles... CONTINUE READING

Celebrate summer with this lovely 4th of July themed puzzle by Tom Wood. This Sunsout puzzle features thick & sturdy pieces, a random-cut pattern with a good variety of piece shapes, and a tight interlock. With so many unique textures such as the red barn siding, the split-rail fence, the tent awnings, the signs, the ferris wheel, and the firework bursts in the sky, assembly goes quickly and easily. This is a puzzle that keeps your interest to the end. Recommended for anyone who likes Americana or holiday-themed puzzles.. CONTINUE READING

This bright and bold collage puzzle from Buffalo Games is a fun challenge. The Buffalo Games quality is quite good featuring grid-cut pieces with a wide variety of shapes. The small box saves shelf space while an included poster can be used for reference while assembling the puzzles. This puzzle has easy bits--such as assembling the border and a few large and uniquely-colored butterflies. But many butterflies use similar blue-green-pink colors that make it more challenging to figure out to 'which butterfly' an individual piece belongs. True to its collage nature, all the butterflies are adjoining, so you get 'clues' to the adjacent areas on the edges of each completed butterfly. This is a good choice for a dreary day as the colors are sure to brighten your mood. The final completed puzzle is very attractive and would make a nice framed piece... CONTINUE READING

This is a gorgeous fantasy puzzle by renown artist Josephine Wall. The Buffalo Games quality is quite good featuring grid-cut pieces with a wide variety of shapes. The small box saves shelf space while an included poster can be used for reference while assembling the puzzles. I loved the bold, bright colors in this one. Assembly is a nice mix of easy areas, like the faces, with areas of medium difficulty, like the masses of flowers and butterflies. I liked the added touch of the gold glitter, which is solidly applied and used throughout the puzzle. It adds a nice tactile dimension during assembly and makes the final puzzle even more attractive. This would be a nice image to frame for a kid or teen's room... CONTINUE READING
