The Fourth of July holiday always brings back a flood of great memories for me. All the years of state park picnics, watching huge fireworks displays over the lake with friends during college, and “drawing” designs in the air with sparklers as a little kid. (I guess no one knew those things burn at 2000 degrees back then!) The scorch marks from all the “snakes” we lit on my grandparents’ driveway were there for years! I’ve had so much fun putting together a plethora of patriotic-themed puzzles all month while I reminisce and look forward to this year’s 4th. CONTINUE READING

If I mapped my jigsaw journey, it would take a lot of twists and turns. Starting with the simplest tray puzzles I put together as a little kid, I’ve always loved assembling puzzles. I may have stepped away from them for long periods of time, but I’ve always circled back when I’ve spotted a puzzle I just had to have. I’ve always been an outdoorsy, nature-loving gal who tries to do what I can to protect the environment. I’m an obsessive recycler, toss everything I can into the compost bin and never use chemicals on my lawn. I try to live by the phrase “every day is Earth Day!” The actual Earth Day is celebrated every April 22nd on the anniversary of the first one held back in 1970 as a grassroots initiative to increase environmental awareness. CONTINUE READING

Those of us who love puzzles know that putting one together is a great way to relax, de-stress and enjoy some quiet time, or maybe listen to music, a book, or a podcast. I’m so excited to write my first blog for my fellow Puzzle Warehouse Jigsaw Junkies! I’ve found my tribe! A quick bit about me… I live in the Midwest where there are plenty of cold winter nights and hot, humid days when it’s perfect to stay inside and puzzle. My husband and I share a house with three furred and feathered buddies--none of whom have the slightest interest in jigsaw puzzles.
